In our last newsletter, we talked about the importance of gratitude and how it can shape the way we see our days.
This week, I wanted to share a little more about why gratitude matters so deeply to me.
I’ve always had a tendency to be a glass-is-half-empty kind of person. It’s something I’ve had to be honest about over the years.
If I’m not careful, my thoughts can quickly settle on what’s hard, what’s missing, or what isn’t going the way I hoped.
A long time ago, I learned that one of the most effective ways to combat that mindset was to count my blessings intentionally.
When life feels heavy or overwhelming, stopping to give thanks, sometimes for every single thing I can think of, helps put my heart back into perspective.
Gratitude doesn’t make the hard stuff disappear, but it does remind me that God is still present, still faithful, and still at work.
Running a business can be hectic and exhausting. There are seasons when even I, as a virtual assistant, feel like I’m wearing all of the hats. I get so tired and sometimes want to quit.
In those moments, pausing to count my blessings helps me regroup. It slows me down and reminds me who I’m ultimately serving.
Gratitude is not just a suggestion or a helpful habit. It’s something God calls us to. Scripture reminds us:
“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” ~1 Thessalonians 5:18
That verse is one of my favorites.
It doesn’t say to give thanks for everything, but in everything.
Even in difficult seasons, gratitude helps anchor my heart in truth and draws my focus back to the Lord.
When I decided to create A Grateful Heart, it was both out of necessity and a desire to help others.
I needed to create something meaningful that could also support my work and my family, while still pointing hearts back to the Lord.
This journal became a place for me to slow down, reflect, and reestablish my heart, and I hope it does the same for others.
A Grateful Heart is a 30-day, faith-based gratitude journal designed to be simple and approachable.
There’s no pressure to write perfectly or fill every page. It’s meant to meet you where you are and help you build a habit of noticing God’s goodness, one day at a time.
If you’d like to take a look, the journal is available in two places:
Printed version on Amazon: Please click the link here.
Interactive digital version on Etsy: Please click the link here.
Thank you for being here, for reading this email, and for walking alongside me.
My prayer is that this journal serves as a gentle reminder of God’s faithfulness and helps you cultivate a grateful heart, especially on the hard and busy days.
With gratitude,
